The very first Russian rap group formed in 1986 (!!!) in Soviet times. It was really the very first band in the history of russian rap. Initially, the team was engaged in breaking and was called Меркурий (Mercury), but gradually the participants began to show interest in rap - a new and modern genre at that time, they did not give up breaking and remained faithful to it until the very end. The group consisted of two frontmen - Игорь Захаров (Igor Zakharov) and Арут Игнатов aka Тур (Artur Ignatov aka Tur), as well as break dancers. During the entire existence of the group, the only official album of the group was released - "Этот Мир - Мой!" ("This World is Mine!"). In the late 90s - early 00s, the band changed its format and went into experiments with hip-hop, break, electronics and psychedelics, all this was done under the name Театр Кваса ("Kvass Theater"). The result of these experiments was the album "Танец Вселенной" ("Dance of the Universe"), which has been lying on the shelf for a long time and was published only this year! The only official album of the first russian-speaking rap group. There was another recorded but unreleased album, which was a mix of hip hop, electronica, breaking and rave. And just recently this record was released, and soon I will post this release.
