Profile
Licwit is an interesting artist who deliberately immerses the listener in the atmosphere of good old funk and West Coast gangsta rap from the 80s and 90s.
Licwit was born in San Francisco (California) in the early 1980s and later settled in San Diego. This geographical and cultural connection largely shaped his musical style: he consciously focuses on a retro sound, drawing inspiration from the classics of funk and West Coast gangsta rap of that era.
He works both as a performer and as a producer. In his work, he not only releases his own projects (for example, the Napalm mixtape series) but also actively collaborates with other artists. Among those he has worked with are Bad Azz, South Central Cartel, Jayo Felony, Big Chan Loc, Bizzy Bone, X‑Raided, and other veterans of the scene. Thanks to this approach, he has built an audience not only on the West Coast of the USA but also in other regions of the country, as well as abroad — in the UK, Germany, Japan, Norway, and Brazil.
He founded the label Napalm Funk Ent to release his Napalm series. The Napalm mixtape/album series was released over several years: Napalm Tha Mixtape Vol. 1 (2012), Vol. 2 (2016), and Vol. 3 and Vol. 4 (2018). It was an entire release concept that the rapper developed over many years.
